Luke's Story
Luke Hanson was the kind of kid who left a lasting impression—full of energy, kindness, and a deep love for life. Baseball was his greatest passion, and when he wasn’t on the field, he loved fishing, country music, and spending time with his brother Noah and grandparents, Tim and Joy. Above all, his heart belonged to his mom, Emily, his greatest comfort and biggest supporter.
Luke lived with determination, grit, and grace. Even in his final days, he gave the ultimate gift as an organ donor, allowing his legacy to live on in others. His light will never go out.
About the Foundation
The Play for Luke Foundation exists to honor the life and legacy of Luke Hanson by expanding opportunities for youth baseball players through scholarships, financial assistance, equipment grants, and support of community baseball organizations. The Foundation promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, perseverance, and access to the game of baseball regardless of financial circumstances.
